Payment Policy

​

All custom orders require a 50% deposit to reserve the desired date/time. Payments may be made via Venmo, Zelle or PayPal. The remaining amount will be due at pick-up.

 

Your date and order will not be secured until the deposit is made. You have 24 hours to complete the deposit once the final quote is received.

 

Every invoice will have an 8% South Carolina Retail Sales Tax and a 2% Richland County Hospitality Tax added to the total.

 

Custom Cake Orders

 

Custom orders are accepted anywhere from 2 months before your event date to 3 weeks before your event date. Please note that any order accepted less than 2 weeks in advance may incur a rush fee of $25.00.

 

Custom cakes start at $125.00. Please note this is BASE pricing. My cakes are fully custom and are priced on design / how much time it will take for me to plan a design and decorate the cake. The above pricing does not include certain accents or toppers that may need to be purchased.

 

I am unable to accept any order more than 2 months in advance due to my family prioritizing travel in our current season of life.

 

Celebration Cakes

All cakes on the celebration cake menu are pre-designed and non-customizable. If you are interested in a custom option, please fill out the Custom Order Form to inquire about a custom option. Please fully read the FAQ page prior to inquiring about a custom order.

Celebration cake orders must be received at least one week in advance. Any orders placed without 7 days notice, will be canceled and refunded. Celebration cakes are offered in four flavor options and six design options.

 

Cancellations and Refunds

​

Custom cakes cancelled up to 7 days before will receive 50% of the deposit back. 25% of the total cost forfeited will cover time spent planning, communicating, ordering for and designing your cake.

 

If a prepaid Celebration Cake is not picked up by a customer on the selected date, Cakes by Brianne reserves the right to withhold the full amount paid if unable to resell the cake.

 

In the event Cakes by Brianne has to cancel your cake order within a one-week window of planned pick up (illness, emergency, etc.), she will contact you as soon as possible so you can make other arrangements. Your deposit or payment will be fully refunded, and you will receive a $25 credit toward a future order. Please note that your refund may not be returned to your original method of payment, but in another form.

Order Changes

​

Custom orders can be altered up to 2 weeks prior to your pick-up date. However, you may incur the cost of any accents, toppers or specialty ingredients already purchased to execute your cake design.

 

Cake Care

​

Cakes by Brianne is not responsible for any damage that may happen to your cake once it has left my property. It is essential that you follow the written Cake Care Instructions received to ensure the best flavor and appearance possible come time for your celebration.

Creative Disclaimer

​

Cakes by Brianne specializes in buttercream cakes with a unique skill set and design style. I will never exactly copy an inspiration photo or another baker, but am happy to consider incorporating various similar elements of another design on your cake. Please visit my gallery to get a visual idea of my cake decorating style and be confident that we can collaborate to come up with a design that meets your vision. I do not create themed, sculpted, fondant, or novelty cakes. If you don’t care for what you see, I would recommend finding another baker who can better suit your needs.                                         

Location and Pick Up

​

Cakes by Brianne is a home bakery, conveniently located in Irmo, South Carolina within 10 miles of Ballentine, Chapin, Lexington and Columbia zip codes. I will provide my exact location once your deposit has been received. All orders must be picked up from my home during the offered windows of Monday-Friday between 1:00pm-5:00pm, Saturday before 10:00am OR by appointment. I can offer a 30 minute courtesy window if necessary, but will not accept late pick ups.

 

Please note that you should have an area cleared on your passenger floorboard to transport your cake and note that it will need to be refrigerated immediately upon arrival at your home.

 

Cake Sizes & Servings

 

The number of cake servings I quote is a rough estimate based on a 2”x3” slice. Plan for 75% of your guests to eat cake and consider if you will also be serving other desserts and food. Take into account both the number of adults and children you will be serving. I will never try to oversell you, but also want to ensure that you have enough cake for your guests. I always recommend cutting small slices to start and then offering seconds once everyone has been served.

E-mail and Correspondence

Cakes by Brianne communicates via e-mail (hello@cakesbybrianne.com) for ordering purposes correspondence of all natures. This guarantees a paper trail of our conversations and ensures that your information and requests remain in one place accessible to us both. Please note that I will respond to an e-mail within 24 hours and will not be readily available via text or DM if you message me through another medium.

Licensing & Cottage Law

​

Cakes by Brianne LLC is a licensed home retail bakery in the state of South Carolina, approved to do business under South Carolina’s Cottage Law. My home kitchen is not subject to DHEC inspections, but meets all standards required by Cottage Law.

​

All cakes contain wheat, eggs, dairy products, and occasionally soy and nuts. Please let Cakes by Brianne know when you place an order if you have any allergies or sensitivities. Because my kitchen contains cross contaminants, I cannot guarantee allergen free products. I am happy to accommodate requests for gluten or dairy free cakes for an additional fee of $15/cake and will take every precaution to ensure your product is allergen free.
